The Sports Minister, Felipe Payano, considered the creation of the Creating Olympic Dreams (CRESO) program as “very positive”, announced yesterday by Felipe A. Vicini, executive president of Vicini, which is sponsored by seven other companies.
“This is very positive and has great value”, stated Payano, who emphasized that the initiative is the result of the policies set forth by the Sports Ministry together with the Dominican Olympic Committee. “This marriage without divorce is bearing fruit. The work being performed in a harmonious manner is showing results in other areas besides sports”, stated Payano.
The Sports Minister jointed the ceremony having arrived in the country the night before after inaugurating the Patriotic Games in Orlando, United States.
He commended the creation of CRESO which counted on the support of Vicini, Banco Popular, Central Romana Corporation, Ferquido, Claro-Codetel, Mercasid, Grupo rica, Grupo Corripio. “Today Dominican entrepreneurs have shown their confidence in national sports”, stated Payano, remembering that that trust had been lost. “This is a significant accomplishment”, he said, who added that with the support of President Leonel Fernández, “a propitious climate has been created for companies to invest in Dominican sports”.
He guaranteed that the Dominican Government will continue its support to national sports as has been done traditionally. “This is a marriage without divorce that no one can destroy”, he concluded.
