Vicini and Foundation Deliver Donation
Purpose. The action forms part of the interest by VICINI enterprises and Inicia in the reconstruction of Haiti

Santo Domingo.- VICINI, their associated companies, and the  Inicia Foundation, issued the delivery of the first contribution of $300,000 to Save the Children Dominican Republic, out of a total of $500,000 approved for the aid program established after the Haiti Earthquake.

Also, the delivery of a contribution of RD$240,232 and USD$57,339.00 fruit of the  accrued funds raised by all banks accounts opened by Fundación Inicia in the BHD Bank, Banco León and Popular.

The delivery of this donation was issued during an activity hosted at the VICINI offices, which featured the attendance of Save the Children Dominican Republic Board of Directos chairman Fernando Rainieri; César Nicolás Penson, treasurer; Horacio Ornes, executive director; members of the Nelia Barletta Board of Directors, Cristina Cadenas, Tony Rivera and Andrés Ferrer and Karla Suncar; and Yaminha Dickson, of Communications and Funds Raising. On behalf of Inicia, their chairwoman Amelia Vicini.

During the act Amelia Vicini, chairwoman of Inicia, expressed her gratitude to all the persons who channeled their contributions in the accounts opened by Fundación Inicia. The captured resources were substantially increased up to the sum of USD$1M, out of which, USD$500,000 were facilitated to Save the Children Dominican Republic in two payments, one for USD$300,000 delivered now in April 2010 and one for USD$200,000, which will be delivered in June 2010 to continue sending aid to the Haitian people, as well as to provide medical attention.

Gratitude

While Horacio Ornes, executive director for Save the Children Dominican Republic thanked the donation of funds issued on behalf of VICINI and Inicia, with which they will proceed to use in assembling two new mobile clinics in Jacmel, in addition to the 4 existing units, as well as to cover medical staff expenses, administrative and operational, food production and other community necessities during the next six months.

This donation forms part of the new initiatives established by VICINI, their managed and partner companies, and Fundación Inicia, in solidarity with the recuperation and construction of Haiti.
